Native Twitter sharing disappears from latest iOS beta if Twitter’smobile app is installed

iOS-8.3-beta-4-no-Twitter-sharing-option

iOS 8.3 beta 4 that was seeded to Apple’s registered iOS developers last week has removed the long-standing option to share content to Twitter, according to our own findings a couple days ago that have since been confirmed by other users.

We’ve noticed something was afoot as the option to share to Twitter has gone missing from the Share sheet in iOS 8’s stock Photos and Safari app.

Technically, the feature has not been removed entirely because it only disappears after installing Twitter’s official iOS app in iOS 8.3 beta 4, as evidenced on the screenshots provided by our own Oliver Haslam.

Uninstall Twitter and it comes back.

The current stable edition of iOS 8, iOS 8.2, still has native Twitter sharing built-in. Its removal from iOS 8.3 beta 4 could indicate that Apple might have opted to allow Twitter to deliver richer sharing features via a future iOS 8 extension.

This would be actually awesome.

Apple has been slow to update native social sharing options in iOS since debuting Twitter integration with the release of iOS 5 back in 2011. Indeed, iOS’s current implementation of Twitter sharing leaves a lot to be desired.

While you can tag other users via iOS 8’s Twitter option in the Share sheet, some of the best features Twitter recently rolled out remain unsupported, including multi-image sharing, animated GIFs, sharing of native Twitter video and more.

Notice the missing Twitter option from the Share sheet in iOS 8.3 beta 4’s stock Photos app.

By allowing Twitter to deliver the latest and greatest features via an iOS 8 Share sheet extension delivered through its free iOS client, the micro-blogging service wouldn’t just make users happy, but possibly nudge many more people toward installing its app, which keeps getting better and better with each new update.

Also, such a move wouldn’t be out of character for the California firm. Remember, the company similarly pulled its own YouTube client from iOS, correctly assuming that Google would do a much better work delivering the latest Youtube features to iPhone and iPad users via a native iOS client of its own.

Assuming that’s what we’re in fact seeing here, the move begs the question of other social integration in iOS. Maybe Apple will similarly remove built-in Flickr, Vimeo and Facebook sharing options from iOS in favor of an extension approach?

Would that make sense to you?

Samsung is sending 747s full of the Galaxy S6 ahead of April 10 releasein the US

h5

Samsung has not yet revealed official pre-order numbers for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge though it is believed that the company’s carrier and retail partners have placed orders for up to 20 million units of both flagships combined. Recent reports also suggest that Samsung has had to triple the original production volume of the Galaxy S6 edge due to unprecedented demand from its partners. Clearly the demand is high or else Samsung wouldn’t have to charter Boeing 747 planes, fill them up with pallets stacked with the Galaxy S6 models and fly them over to the United States.

This is one move that Apple has made many times before, sending planes filled with the latest devices to ensure that there’s ample stock available at carrier and retailer partners on launch day. Given the fact that early reviews for both devices have been very promising it wouldn’t surprise anyone if the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge end up doing very well in the market. Samsung may presumably take similar steps for other lucrative markets as well that are part of the 20 countries where the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge will be released first on April 10.

Apple with three iPhone in the fall

IMG_0120-0

As we know that Apple has launched two different types of iPhone for consumers these past two years as the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C in 2013 and the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus 2014, Apple could be planning to release up to three handsets for different customers in the fall of 2015.
A recent report from Digitimes suggests that Apple is working on versions of the iPhone 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch, but also is working on a new iPhone 4-inch. IPhonav designations will be:
iPhone 6s, 6s Plus iPhone, and iPhone 6c, as the details of the report.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus iPhone will be the same size screen as the iPhone 6 and 6 plus, while 6c iPhone will act as a sort of support for legacy 4-inch size that some have refused to give because of comfort ipajisjes in keeping with one hand and reaching every part of the screen.
So far, these new handsets are rumored to have improve in the RAM memory, SIM cards and even Apple support Apple touch technology Force that was introduced for the first time in the MacBook Pro.
Moreover, Apple said it will use the iPhone 6C A8 processor and a new processor for the iPhone A9 6s and 6s iPhone Plus. These will improve performance, increase usability, and reliability.
iPajisjet will come with iOS 9 which you can see at WWDC for which Apple has promised to bring more stability and reliability.

Samsung Z1(SM-Z130H)

Samsung has been working on Tizen for a long time, in order to break away from its dependence on Android and have its own ecosystem that it can offer across a range of products, including smartphones, TVs, cars and more. After numerous delays, the Korean manufacturer finally managed to launch a phone running Tizen in the market. This phone is the Samsung Z1, which went on sale in India earlier this month. Unlike what was earlier expected, Samsung decided to debut Tizen on a budget smartphone – at $90 (INR 5,700), it’s a considerably low-cost phone that breaks away from the usual norm and offers better hardware than existing smartphones from the company.
But the phone itself is not the star here. It’s Tizen, an operating system many thought was almost becoming vaporware thanks to the delays. We have been using the Samsung Z1 for a week or so, and here’s what we think about the spearheader of Samsung’s ambitious OS.

Design

As we said in our hands-on preview, the Z1 looks a lot like Samsung’s low-end Android phones, thanks to the overall shape and the placement of navigation buttons. It’s a rectangular slab with an unassuming design. At the front, you have the Samsung and DUOS logos above the display, along with the speaker grille and front-facing camera. Below the display, there’s a menu button, followed by a small physical home button, and a back key. The home button is oddly shaped: it’s a square instead of the rectangular home button we see on Samsung’s Android phones, making it a bit too tiny sometimes when you’re using the phone.

Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy S5 now in INDIA

Samsung_Galaxy_S5

Samsung only recently announced the availability details of the Galaxy S6 series for the Indian market, but the company has made sure it doesn’t let down owners of the erstwhile Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S5, by rolling out the anticipated Lollipop update for the device. According to a tipster, the update starting rolling out earlier today and presumably is still in the process of getting to more and more Galaxy S5 (G900H) units.

The 874MB heavy update brings along a fresher TouchWiz UI, and of course, performance and stability improvements besides better battery life. Do let us know if you’ve received the update already, and how it has held up so far.

Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge: Which one are you buying ?

download

Samsung took the smartphone industry by storm when it unleashed the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge at MWC earlier this month. After years of focusing more on ergonomics than on the design side of things, the Korean manufacturer unveiled two beautiful and modern looking smartphones that got even naysayers to start singing praises of Samsung’s new flagship lineup. There has been huge demand and interest from consumers (everyone is happy), and the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge look like they will be immense hits that the competition will find hard to match.

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are pretty much the same devices, but the S6 edge is considerably better when it comes to the design, thanks to a screen that curves to both sides. The phone looks as futuristic as a smartphone can look, but apart from a more visually appealing design and some additional functionality as a result of the curved display, the Galaxy S6 edge doesn’t really offer anything over the Galaxy S6 to truly warrant the higher price and the license to boast about owning such an attractive smartphone.

The team here at SamMobile is unanimously in love with the Galaxy S6 edge, and judging by most of the comments on the site, it looks like the edgy Galaxy S6 variant is the phone that most consumers will pick up if given the chance. But it’s something we wanted to ask our readers instead of jumping to a conclusion: Which of the two devices are you looking to buy when the duo goes on sale starting April 10? What are the reasons that would drive you towards either phone, and what are your general thoughts about Samsung’s latest and greatest flagship offerings?

Sound off in the comments below, and don’t forget to check out our hands-on preview of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge (we’re working on a full review of the Galaxy S6 edge, and you can expect it go live within the next couple of weeks.)
