Galaxy Note 4 outpace iPhone 6 and 6 Plus terms of customer satisfaction

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 topped the chart of customer satisfaction, leaving behind Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. According to data from the Customer Satisfaction Index, University of Michigan, Samsung customers are most satisfied with their devices.
Galaxy Note 4, which was released in October of last year, scored 86 points out of 100 possible points, while the latest smart phones Apple's was ranked in second place with 82 points each. Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S5 was also the same point with the Apple smart phones it.

We should emphasize that the latest device-ut Samsung Galaxy S6 was not yet cast into the market when it conducted this study, therefore it is not included in the graph.

Regarding companies, Apple and Samsung were very close to each other, each received 80 points, while in the first five countries also ranked Motorola, BlackBerry and HTC, with 79, 78 and 77 points, respectively.

Make sure you’re up to date

Go to Settings > About device > Software update and check for updates.

The same logic applies to apps, so fire up the Play Store, open the menu at the top left and tap My apps and make sure all of the apps you use are up to date.

Clean up your home screen

You should also clean away any unused icons and limit your widgets to the essentials. The less cluttered your home screen is, the better in terms of performance.

Samsung uses Snapchat to ‘Edge-ucate’ you about its latest flagship

Samsung is going all out on marketing and advertising efforts for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, why wouldn’t it since these new handsets are crucial for the company to regain its footing in the global smartphone market. The company now seeks to offer “Edge-ucation” about its latest flagship through Snapchat and for that purpose it has teamed up with popular Snapchat user Shonduras to release a series of videos that subtly promote the Galaxy S6 edge.

For those who don’t know who Shonduras is, he’s a Snapchat user that has gained quite a lot of popularity because of his drawing skills which he uses to embellish the ephemeral photos that he shares with people. Samsung put the Galaxy S6 edge in Shonduras’s hands and made several videos in which he goes through “Snapchat secrets” that will help you up your ephemeral messaging game, and possibly even convince you to purchase the Galaxy S6 edge if you haven’t already. Even if it doesn’t get you to purchase the company’s latest flagship at least you get to learn some cool Snapchat tricks.

Samsung sets sights on the iPhone 6S, may announce the Galaxy Note 5 in July

We all know that engineers at Samsung are hard at work in developing the Galaxy Note 5, and it was expected that the company would traditionally announce it during IFA 2015. Now, a report from WhoWired Korea is claiming that Samsung might drop the bomb sooner than expected as it is trying to outmatch Apple by announcing its next flagship smartphone ahead of the iPhone 6S’ possible announcement in August.

According to the report, Samsung has finalised the specifications of the Galaxy Note 5, and already showcased it to its global telecom partners. Apparently, Samsung has plans to complete the prototype by mid-June, and take pre-orders before the launch at the end of July. There is a slight possibility of this report being true, but you should take this with a pinch of salt.

Samsung has experienced less than stellar sales of its Galaxy Note series devices, thanks to Apple’s entry into the phablet category with the iPhone 6 Plus. Previously, we reported that the Galaxy Note 5 could feature a 2K or a 4K display and an Exynos 7 processor with an inbuilt homegrown modem. Samsung is also expected to announce its first round smartwatch (Gear A), which runs on a newer version of Tizen, alongside the Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung Gear Live no longer available from Google Play, probably discontinued

Samsung hasn’t been very keen on Android Wear, but the company was still the first (along with LG) to launch a smartwatch running Google’s OS for wearables. This watch was the Gear Live, which is basically a rehashed Gear that cut down on some features (like calling) thanks to Android Wear’s limited nature.

Needless to say, the Gear Live wasn’t very popular, partly because of lack of any marketing from Samsung, so it should not come as disappointing to anyone that it has now been discontinued, less than a year after it was launched. It’s no longer available for purchase from Google Play; you can still grab it from stores like Amazon, but it’s likely it won’t go up for sale again once the current stock runs out.

If you are put off by the fact that the Gear Live is soon going the way of the dodo, you can always look forward to the Gear A (codenamed Orbis), Samsung’s first round smartwatch. It will run Tizen instead of Android Wear, but it will also come with anattractive design, a new user interface, and a rotating bezel ring for intuitive operation.

With 12 hours battery life Samsung to show off an Ultrabook

The biggest attempt to match the sleek and beautiful form factor of Apple’s MacBook was the Ultrabook, a platform by Intel that saw many manufacturers come out with extremely thin laptops that offered better battery life than standard Windows laptops and higher resolution displays. However, Ultrabooks never managed to take off in a way companies might have hoped, but it looks like Samsung is giving it another go with a new Ultrabook that it will show off at CES next month.Samsung will be showcasing the Series 9 2015 Edition Ultrabook, which will feature a 12.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 (WQXGA) and a brightness of 700 nits with an adaptive feature for adjusting brightness according to the lighting conditions. The Ultrabook will be powered by the Intel Core M-5Y10c Broadwell processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage.The best feature of the new Ultrabook seems to be its battery life – Samsung is claiming 12 hours of battery backup, achieved with the help of the Ultra Power Saving Mode that we have seen on the company’s handsets. Windows 8.1 will help as well, as it is the most optimized version of Windows till date.With Samsung having exited the laptop market in Europe, it’s interesting to see the company experimenting with a form factor that has failed to make a dent in the laptop market. Details on availability and pricing will likely be given at CES, which is only week or so away at this point.
